The Sandvik Group conducts operations within five business areas - Sandvik Mining, Sandvik Machining Solutions, Sandvik Materials Technology, Sandvik Construction and Sandvik Venture - with responsibility for research and development (R&D), production and sales of their respective products.

Sandvik Mining
A leading global supplier of equipment and tools, service and technical solutions for the mining industry. The offering covers rock drilling, rock cutting, rock crushing, loading and hauling and materials handling.

In 2010 sales amounted to about 27,200 MSEK, with approximately 12,800 employees (pro forma rounded numbers).

Sandvik Machining Solutions
A global market-leading manufacturer of tools and tooling systems for advanced industrial metal cutting. Products are manufactured in cemented carbide and other hard materials such as diamond, cubic boron nitride and special ceramics.

In 2010 sales were about 18,500 MSEK with 12,600 employees (pro forma rounded numbers).

A world-leading manufacturer of high value-added products in advanced materials, special alloys, metallic and ceramic resistance materials. In 2010 sales were about SEK 15,700 M with 8,000 employees (pro forma rounded numbers).

Product areas:
Tube produces seamless tube and pipe in stainless steel as well as in titanium, nickel and zirconium alloys.

Strip produces strip in a wide range of steel grades and sizes for many applications with special strength in thin precision strip steel.

Wire and Heating Technology manufactures industrial furnace products and heating systems, and wire in a wide range of stainless steels and resistance materials.

Sandvik Construction
Provides solutions for virtually any construction industry application encompassing such diverse businesses as surface rock quarrying, tunneling, excavation, demolition, road building, recycling and civil engineering. The range of products includes rock tools, drilling rigs, breakers, bulk-materials handling and crushing and screening machinery.

In 2011 sales amounted to more than 9,000 MSEK, with approximately 2,600 employees (pro forma rounded numbers).

Sandvik Venture is aiming to create the best possible environment for growth and profitability in attractive and fast-growing operations.

In 2010 sales amounted to about 7,300 MSEK, with approximately 4,200 employees (pro forma rounded numbers).

The product areas comprise Sandvik Hard Materials, Diamond Innovations, Wolfram, Dormer, Sandvik Process Systems and parts of Sandvik MedTech.
