Marie-Lousie Ek: ”I thought it would be a bit dull to work for such a big industrial giant, but it is rather the opposite. I enjoy waking up every day and having my work to go to."
Tell us about your Sandvik journey!
I joined at Sandvik Mining and Construction's headquarters in a corporate broad HR role where I got great exposure to Sandvik's way of working with HR and was also part of developing and implementing tools and processes. After three years I got the role as VP HR for a newly created customer segment in SMC, this was a fantastic experience in terms of change management. In 2008 I moved to Singapore to build up the HR Function in Asia Pacific and when we reorganized in 2009 my role moved to Dubai.
How would you describe your current position?
I am handling full scope of HR and my major focus is to change the way we work into a performance driven culture. This I do not do alone of course, but with my HR team and all the managers in the organization.
What is it like working for Sandvik in different countries?
No matter where in the world I have been I am always happy to see that our core values are pretty strong and the people working with us are living up to the standard of the Sandvik brand.
What is the best thing about your job?
That I get to meet so many interesting people and that I can help the organization improving.
What has been the biggest surprise about working at Sandvik?
