Tell us about your background and how you got to Sandvik!
I applied for internship abroad within Sandvik during my studies in Luleå. I got the chance to work for a Coromants Production Unit in US, Fair Lawn, New Jersey. These months were an eye opener for me. I realized the incredible opportunities a company like Sandvik can give me and this company is from my home region.

What do you do in your current position?
I'm working as a Global Project Manager for different projects within our Production Units within Sandvik Mining and Construction. Our department is a central function for our 22 production units, handling mainly investments and technical support regarding manufacturing technologies.

What other positions have you held in Sandvik?
I have been working in the R&D function within SMC, with Product development for Rock Tools.

In what ways have you developed by changing positions at Sandvik?
By changing assignments and focus I have broadened myself. I'm still working with quite the same products, but from an other view. My years with Research and Development have given me a perfect eduction/trainee and helps me a lot with my new assignments.

How do you experience that Sandvik is an international company in your daily work?
I have daily meeting or phone calls with my colleauges around the world, from Sweden to Australia, South Africa and India. I really appreciate the international climate that Sandvik stands for. Sandvik Mining and Construction is active in 130 countries and our production units are spread all over the world. We also visit our production units with regular basis.

What is your advice for a student?
If you don't want to be a specialist, don't hesitate to test different positions/functions within Sandvik. This will help you broaden your skills.

Why are you proud to be working at Sandvik?
We are world leading in what we are doing and I can feel that me and my colleages affect on the result.

The challenge is to develop our ability to make specialized products. Our products are mainly manufactured at our own units, which we consider a guarantee for high quality and cost efficiency.
